- Why we need funds.
Mencap is a totally voluntary organization and relies on fundraising
to survive. The minibus service we provide to collect our club
members is a lifeline as the majority of them ar not able to use
public transport unsupervised. Insurance for each bus is currently
almost £2000. Tax, maintainence and fuel for the busses,
in addition to the initial cost of the buses themsleves, take
up a large proportion of our funds.
